چکیده
Ostomy feeding remains a reference approach for enteral nutritional assistance. In Madagascar, the techniques are still conventional surgical procedures due to lack of adequate endoscopic equipment. This study aims evaluate benefits and risks nutrition with two-week follow-up. Included patients who had benefited from by tube using nasogastric, gastrostomy, jejunostomy tubes over six months in Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona Hospital. Prevalence, age gender, current body mass index (BMI), weight, grade, initial pathology, psychological status, comorbidities, type stoma, technique (gastrostomy or jejunostomy) were studied. After 15 days, effectiveness was assessed BMI, serum albumin, C-Reactive Protein (CRP) level, as well postoperative complications quality life. The patient's outcome on 15th day has been determined. Chi-square test analyzed associations Mann Whitney compared effects ostomy gastric use. Forty-two included, aged 47(17-78). sex ratio 0.5. Initially, 17(12-23) kg/m², albumin value 3.4 (2.5-4.7) gr/dl median CRP level 16 (2-74.2) mg/l. Nutritional assistance resulted weight variation between baseline day. Comparing tube, only C Reactive significative difference. Mortality 33% (gastrostomy), 31% (jejunostomy), 24% (nasogastric tube). support choice not associated mortality. is questionable this if results more promising literature. death rate linked pathology general state considerable, hence interest decision-making multidisciplinary consultation meetings.

متن کاملThe Effects of Pre-Operative Enteral Nutrition from Nasal Feeding Tubes on Gastric Outlet Obstruction
We examined gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) patients who received two weeks of strengthening pre-operative enteral nutrition therapy (pre-EN) through a nasal-jejenal feeding tube placed under a gastroscope to evaluate the feasibility and potential benefit of pre-EN compared to parenteral nutrition (PN). In this study, 68 patients confirmed to have GOO with upper-gastrointestinal contrast and w...

The use of safe and cost-effective endoscopic techniques for the placement of tubes in the gastrointestinal tract has led to increased utilization of long-term enteral feeding in patients with impaired GI function, including many cancer patients. Of an estimated 148,000 US patients who received long-term enteral feeding outside hospitals in 1992, 43% were cancer patients. The technique of percu...
